Do Natural Resource Districts Covet Your Land?

Since when does government know how to run your business? This is a question I find myself asking in the wake of the state Natural Resource Districts’ most recent attempt to stick it to farmers and landowners by proposing a statutory change to a law that has served us well over the last 28 years. While you are obviously familiar by now with some of the more inscrutable actions taken by the Papio-Missouri River NRD’s board, the state NRDs appear to be following suit. It’s …

Terry to Introduce Legislation Requiring Weekly Updates to Congress on Obamacare Website

Washington, DC – After questioning the Obamacare website contractors during today’s House Energy and Commerce Committee’s oversight hearing, Representative Lee Terry (R-NE) announced next week he will be introducing legislation that will require weekly updates to Congress.

“What I learned today after hearing directly from the people who built this website is that it was CMS’s decision to move forward even though the signs were there that it clearly wasn’t ready for prime time,” said Terry. “I also learned these contractors have the information …

Be Wary Of Whom You Would Follow Down A Rabbit Hole

Recently, the Papio-Missouri NRD has been in the alternative media with stories of “Incompetence and Corruption.” These stories, in my opinion, have been pre-fabricated and ginned up for more of a political reason than any other. For whatever that reason may actually be I have yet to decipher, perhaps simple personality disagreements. We have had one Director on the Board who has repeatedly asserted certain accusations that have been refuted over and over again by our State’s Attorney General’s office as well as the State …

Rose Garden Infomercial on Obamacare Website Failure Doesn’t Answer Questions

Washington, DC – Representative Lee Terry (R-NE) today made the following statement after President Obama’s Rose Garden infomercial on Obamacare failing to deliver as promised:

“The President’s infomercial today did little to answer questions about why $600 million was spent on this glitch when the common sense thing to do would have been delay this law for individuals the same way the White House delayed it for businesses.

“At one point today, the President said, ‘The product of the Affordable Care Act … is working. …
